Treatment for veterans, active-duty military, and first responders Care that respects your service and your schedule

When your job is to stay composed under pressure, asking for help can feel like the opposite of what you have been trained to do. For many veterans, service members, and first responders, the instinct is to push through, manage it alone, and keep showing up. That instinct is a strength. It can also delay care long past the point where it would help.
At Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health, you can get expert outpatient treatment for substance use, mental health, or both without stepping away from your duties, your career, or your family.

Occupational stress and trauma cause many veterans, active-duty military, and first responders to misuse alcohol, tobacco, and substances, and in some cases, develop addiction. Our immersive, outpatient IOP is just as effective as inpatient treatment.

Barriers to getting help

The obstacles are real, and we take them seriously. Concerns about time away from duty, about confidentiality, and about the effect on a security clearance keep many people from reaching out. Our outpatient model is designed around those concerns, so getting help does not mean putting your responsibilities or your standing at risk.

How Kolmac’s programs work for veterans and first responders

As an outpatient-first provider, Kolmac lets you begin treatment, including virtual detox when needed, while you continue to serve and live at home. Our integrated programs treat substance use and mental health together within a single plan. Care includes:

  • Access to a veterans and first responders support group led by a first responder in recovery
  • Treatment that addresses the impact of alcohol or substance use on security clearance
  • Dual diagnosis care for co-occurring trauma, PTSD, and substance use
  • Coordination with employee assistance programs and return-to-work evaluations, with confidentiality protected throughout
  • Individual psychotherapy for trauma, work-related stress, and family strain, in person or virtually
