Our Virtual Treatment Programs

Kolmac combines evidence-based therapies, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and peer support through live video sessions. Here is what we offer virtually.

Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for Substance Use

Our virtual IOP for substance use is designed for adults who need structured addiction treatment without residential care. The program includes group therapy, individual counseling, and medical support, all delivered through live telehealth sessions.

Sessions run three to four days per week, with morning, afternoon, and evening options so you can continue working or caring for family. Treatment addresses alcohol use disorder, opioid and painkiller dependence, and other substance use disorders using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and relapse prevention strategies.

Most major insurance plans are accepted. Check your insurance coverage | Learn more about our Substance Use IOP

Virtual Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Kolmac’s virtual mental health IOP provides structured outpatient care for adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, and co-occurring conditions. If you need more support than weekly therapy but do not require inpatient care, this program fills that gap.

Treatment includes group process sessions, individual therapy, and psychiatric evaluation, all conducted through secure video. Our clinical team creates individualized treatment plans focused on stabilization, coping skills, and long-term resilience.

Virtual Adolescent & Teen Mental Health Treatment

We offer virtual mental health treatment specifically designed for teens and adolescents. Our clinicians specialize in working with younger patients facing anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, and the effects of trauma.

Virtual sessions make it easier for teens to engage with treatment on their own terms, without the disruption of leaving school or navigating transportation. Parents and families are involved through family sessions and regular updates.

Virtual Outpatient Treatment & Continuing Care

After completing IOP, patients can step down into virtual outpatient care. This level provides ongoing individual therapy, group sessions, and check-ins at a reduced frequency, typically one to two sessions per week. It reinforces the skills developed during intensive treatment and supports long-term recovery.

Kolmac’s medical team offers virtual psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management. This includes medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid and alcohol use disorders using Suboxone, naltrexone, and other FDA-approved medications, as well as psychiatric medications for co-occurring mental health conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions About Virtual Treatment

Does virtual addiction treatment actually work?

Yes. Research consistently shows that telehealth-delivered intensive outpatient treatment produces outcomes comparable to in-person care for substance use and mental health disorders. Kolmac tracks patient outcomes and publishes results, and our virtual patients show strong engagement and completion rates.

What do I need to participate in virtual treatment?

You need a private space where you can speak freely, a device with a camera and microphone (computer, tablet, or smartphone), and a reliable internet connection. Kolmac provides access to our secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform before your first session.

Can I get Suboxone or other medications through virtual treatment?

Yes. Kolmac offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) through our virtual psychiatry services. Our providers can prescribe and manage Suboxone, naltrexone, and other FDA-approved medications for opioid and alcohol use disorders via telehealth.

Does insurance cover virtual treatment?

Most major insurance plans cover telehealth-based IOP and outpatient treatment. Our admissions team will verify your benefits and explain any out-of-pocket costs before you begin. Contact us at (888) 521-7692 or request an appointment online to get started.

What is the difference between virtual IOP and virtual outpatient?

Virtual IOP (intensive outpatient) involves three to four sessions per week and is appropriate for individuals who need a higher level of structure and support. Virtual outpatient care typically involves one to two sessions per week and is designed as a step-down after completing IOP, or for individuals who need ongoing but less intensive support.

Can teenagers participate in virtual treatment?

Yes. Kolmac offers virtual mental health treatment designed specifically for adolescents and teens. The program addresses anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral health concerns with age-appropriate clinical approaches. Family involvement is a core part of the treatment process.

What states are you licensed to provide virtual treatment in?

Kolmac is licensed to provide virtual treatment in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. If you live in any of these states, you can access our full range of virtual programs regardless of your proximity to a physical location.

I was referred by my doctor but we are not sure what level of care is needed. What should I do?

Start with a virtual evaluation. Our clinical team will assess your situation, discuss your history and goals, and recommend the appropriate level of care. Many patients come to us through a family member or medical provider referral before a specific program has been identified. The evaluation process is designed for exactly this scenario.
