Evaluation Process

Our simple evaluation process makes getting treatment quick and easy

With our streamlined evaluation process, patients can usually begin receiving treatment within 24 hours of their first call. Unlike other centers, we do not have waiting lists, so treatment is available as soon as patients call us. The process also makes it easy for our referral partners to get treatment for their patients.

At Kolmac, picking up the phone and calling us is the first step in the evaluation process. During that phone call, our friendly intake coordinators help patients schedule an intake evaluation with one of our clinicians. Here are three ways patients can schedule their clinical intake evaluations.

  • Face-to-face intake evaluations are available Monday through Friday during business hours at any of our locations. Evening appointments are also available. Patients can call one of our helpful intake coordinators to reserve an evaluation appointment.
  • Telephone evaluations are available Monday through Saturday during business hours with a Kolmac clinician. Evening appointments are also available. Please call to schedule an intake evaluation.
  • Walk-in evaluations are available Monday through Friday. You can come to any of our locations between 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. for an intake evaluation with a Kolmac clinician.

What happens during an intake evaluation?

During the intake evaluation, patients meet with a clinician in-person or by phone for 45 minutes to an hour. During this time, the clinician asks questions about how addiction is affecting the patient’s life. Talking with patients about Kolmac’s intensive outpatient (IOP) program helps the clinician determine whether Kolmac is the right program for them.

Patients who schedule an in-person evaluation also receive a tour of the facility and an introduction to the many staff members who will help them along the way, including patient advocates and medical staff.

Another component of the evaluation process is a discussion of the cost of treatment and insurance. Patients are often surprised to find that insurance covers a good deal of the treatment expenses at Kolmac.

We know that asking for help is a big step for our patients, so we always answer our phones during business hours. Patients will never reach a recording between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Active patients have access to a 24/7 on-call clinician, so professional help is always available.
