Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health also treats co-occurring mental health disorders as Dr. Kane explains.
I tell people all the time, that we don’t treat urines, we treat people. We’re definitely there to address the substance use disorder. But what we recognize is that it’s really hard to be well if you just sort of focus on one aspect of a patient. And so, we also notice that many of our patients have co-occurring mental health disorders. And so, within the framework of that OTP, we have a mental health department that also addresses mental health conditions and diagnoses. We have nurses and care managers who address somatic complaints and somatic health and do connection to primary care. And we have to look, really look at the person as a whole and address all of those issues and not just the substance abuse itself.
If you or someone you know is struggling with substance use disorder, remember, help is just a call away. Call Kolmac at (888) 331-5251. Your path to a healthier, brighter future begins with a simple step. We’re ready to support you on your journey to recovery.
