Substance use outpatient program at Kolmac: Treatment that fits your life

Substance use disorder treatment doesn’t always begin at the most intensive level, and it doesn’t always need to. For many people, the next step is staying engaged in treatment while continuing to move forward in their daily lives.

At Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health, our outpatient program supports that phase.

You’re not starting over. You’re building on where you are, with structured support that helps you maintain progress while staying connected to your day-to-day life.

What is an outpatient substance use treatment program?

An outpatient treatment program gives you access to structured support while allowing you to keep up with your regular activities. You attend scheduled sessions each week, working with clinicians and peers to address substance use regularly.

Sessions are spaced in a way that allows you to apply what you’re working on in real time, rather than separating treatment from the rest of your week.

Kolmac structures its care to help clients make progress over time. This isn’t an all-day program. Treatment is designed to fit alongside your existing commitments, with a schedule that supports consistency without overwhelming your routine.

Who is a substance use OP right for?

Outpatient programs are often the right fit when your daily life is manageable, but substance use is still affecting your ability to stay on track. It may be a good starting point if you:

  • Have completed a more intensive program, such as IOP or PHP, and are ready to step down into ongoing support
  • Are earlier in your treatment journey and don’t require a higher level of structure to stabilize
  • Can maintain work, family, and daily responsibilities, but need consistent clinical support to sustain progress
  • Are managing a substance use concern alongside a mental health condition and need coordinated care that addresses both

Outpatient care isn’t a minimal commitment — it’s a structured one. You won’t be navigating this on your own, but treatment is designed to fit into your week rather than take it over.

What the Kolmac substance use OP includes

The outpatient program brings everything together into a single, coordinated plan. Rather than managing separate services or providers, care is organized so each part builds on the last.

Our goal is to establish reliability while maintaining flexibility. The therapy adapts to your changing circumstances and consistently mirrors your progress. Here’s what you can expect:

Group and individual counseling

Our substance use treatment program includes group sessions alongside one-on-one counseling. In group settings, you build practical skills and gain perspective, while individual sessions focus on what’s most relevant to you as a person.

This approach balances shared support and personalized focus.

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) indication

Medication-assisted treatment may be included when it’s appropriate. It becomes part of your overall plan, supporting progress without existing separately from the rest of your care.

When included, it is monitored and adjusted alongside therapy, so both work together rather than addressing different parts of the problem in isolation.

Relapse prevention and continuing care planning

We build relapse prevention into the program from the start. You’ll identify risks and build responses that support long-term stability.

At the same time, we look ahead to what comes next and help you transition into ongoing support when the time comes.

How OP fits the Kolmac continuum

All care at Kolmac happens on an outpatient basis. What changes across the continuum is the level of structure. Some patients start with detox or a more intensive program and move into outpatient care as they continue forward.

Moving between levels doesn’t mean starting over. A more intensive program can help stabilize things early on, and outpatient care builds on that foundation by providing ongoing support at a pace that’s easier to maintain alongside your daily life.

With Kolmac, those transitions are part of the process. If your needs change, we adjust your treatment so you can continue to receive the same level of support without interruption.
