A look at Scott’s education and experience
Scott Baratta earned his Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. He later earned his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Throughout his career, Scott has worked in a variety of industries, spending the greatest amount of time in healthcare. He started his career with Fortune 500 companies. However, he later found a passion for early stage and growth companies. Most recently, he served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Choice One Urgent Care in Lutherville, Maryland. He was also the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and a founding partner of Ascent Surgical Partners in Stuart, Florida.
According to Scott Baratta, “My background is unique because I have both operational and financial experience. I’ve spent most of my career in healthcare, and I have a strong passion for early stage and growth companies where I can help influence the trajectory of the organization.”
Scott Baratta serves two important functions at Kolmac
Scott came to Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health Centers in 2019. “I get to wear two hats at Kolmac. As CFO, I’m responsible for finances and billing. In my role as the Chief Growth Officer (CGO), I identify new geographic areas that might benefit from a new Kolmac center. It’s exciting to be responsible for Kolmac’s future expansion,” he says.
Healthcare has always appealed to Scott Baratta because it changes lives. This is a big reason why he came to Kolmac. “The way Kolmac touches the lives of patients is so gratifying. I feel great about what we’re doing here. It’s so inspiring.”
Scott Baratta is excited for the future of Kolmac
Scott is excited to help Kolmac move into the next phase of growth. “I joined Kolmac at a very exciting time, and I get to make a real difference. I love the team and work environment. It’s all so positive,” he explains.
In his spare time, Scott stays busy by trying to keep up with his three children (two sons and a daughter), two of whom are in college. He also enjoys reading, University of Virginia basketball and doing crossword puzzles to relax.
