BioCare has provided outpatient addiction treatment in the form of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and individual therapy for the past five years. During this time, the program has developed a reputation for excellence. This reputation will continue now that the center is part of the Kolmac network of intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment centers.
Integrating treatment models and expanding Kolmac’s reach into Pennsylvania
Andrew Vitullo, the Founder and Executive Director of BioCare, will become the Vice President of Development at Kolmac. In his new role, Vitullo will work to integrate the two treatment models at Kolmac and BioCare as well as expand Kolmac’s footprint. “Kolmac is an industry leader in intensive outpatient addiction treatment, and we are excited to bring them into this community to help those in need,” he says.
Initially, Kolmac will continue to provide MAT and individual therapy at the Yardley location. However, the team has immediate plans to introduce IOP and continuing care groups to enhance the recovery experience for patients.
Dr. George Kolodner, the Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Kolmac, developed the country’s first intensive outpatient (IOP) program in 1973. For over four decades, Kolmac has brought patients the hope of recovery, while enabling people from all walks of life to participate in outpatient treatment without disrupting their jobs, schooling or families.
Kolmac has combined the effectiveness of inpatient treatment with the flexibility and affordability of outpatient care. Its outpatient program is measurement-based and comprehensive. It provides individualized treatment planning, group therapy, MAT, outpatient detox, continuing care, relapse prevention and family programs. In time, these features will be available at Kolmac’s new center in Yardley.
Just the beginning of expansion for Kolmac
The acquisition of BioCare marks the beginning of Kolmac’s expansion into other states and communities. The goal is to offer the option of intensive outpatient treatment to as many patients as possible.
