Gratitude
Grateful for Relationships
Brent Jones – Clinical Director, Silver Spring
I’m grateful for my relationship with a higher power and my relationships with my two sons, wife, parents, sister and family. I am also grateful for my job. I enjoy what I do and appreciate every day that I get to work with people. Hopefully, I get to help them better their lives, which is a responsibility that I do not take for granted.
Grateful for Kolmac’s Staff and Mission
Sarah Atencio – Clinical Director, Gaithersburg
I’m grateful for having a very supportive and cohesive staff that is really dedicated to helping. I’m also grateful for the opportunity to have been part of Kolmac’s mission for the last six years, and I continue to learn more about myself every day. I have an incredibly supportive family and the best two energetic, lively kids anyone could ask for.
Grateful for Finding Joy and Being Present
Christina Gunner – Clinical Director, Columbia
In my role, I urge others to reconnect with what it means to have quality of life…finding joy and being present. I have two Labrador retrievers who do just that by helping me be a “helper” and a “caretaker.” I am grateful for them because they listen without judgment and enjoy everything we do together. Whether I’ve been gone for five minutes or five hours, my return is greeted with the same enthusiastic reaction. I draw on their warm, welcoming demeanor in my efforts to assist our patients and staff each day. I also use those emotions on a personal level to remind myself that I can make a choice to come back and be present no matter what circumstances or emotions I am experiencing that day.
Grateful for Supportive Family and Friends and Making a Difference
Sue Tangires – Clinical Director, Annapolis
I am most grateful for my family and friends. They have always supported me and help me to remember what is most important in my life. I have also been blessed to work as a therapist, clinical supervisor and program administrator for more than 20 years. The work is hard, unpredictable, always changing and deeply personal. Ultimately, it is a gift to sit with people who are suffering and find ways to make a difference in their lives.
Grateful for a Company that Treats Patients as Individuals
Brittany Chadsey – Program Manager, Baltimore
I’m thankful to work for a company that believes in treating each patient based on their individual needs. We work as a team to provide a safe space where patients can feel comfortable being vulnerable without the fear of judgment. It has been an incredible experience to see patients connect with each other and build their trust in others.
Grateful for an Amazing Team with a Shared Vision
Jaimie Fowler – Clinical Director, Frederick
I have tremendous gratitude for having such an amazing team behind me at the Frederick office. They all give 100%, have a great attitude and have a shared vision of making the office the best it can be. I could not have opened the Frederick, Maryland location without their hard work and dedication.
