Elaine Altmire
Regional Clinical Director
Elaine Altmire has accepted the role of Regional Clinical Director for the Washington D.C. Metro Area territory.
The offices that she will support in her regional role include Arlington, VA, Washington, D.C., Gaithersburg, Frederick, Silver Spring and Lanham, Maryland.
A look at Elaine’s education and experience
Elaine received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in Family Studies from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She had her first exposure to addiction treatment at an intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment program during a clinical placement in Harrisonburg. Inspired by that experience, she went on to get her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University in Arlington.
During her master’s program, Elaine completed internships at Demeter House (an inpatient treatment program in Arlington) and the Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health Centers office in D.C. Following graduation, she began her clinical career at Kolmac’s D.C. office as a clinician in the day program. She went on to become Lead Clinician of the day program, followed by Assistant Director and then Clinical Director of the D.C. office for the past four years.
Elaine holds multiple licenses
Elaine is a Licensed Professional Counselor in D.C. and Virginia, a Certified Addictions Counselor I in D.C., and a Nationally Certified Counselor.
