Towson Kolmac Clinic Offers Relapse Prevention Treatment Track
The Kolmac Clinic program in the Towson office offers an innovative relapse prevention treatment track based on the Terrance Gorski CENAPS model of Relapse Prevention and Recovery (www.tgorski.com). The track is designed to provide personal insight that can be used to interrupt a relapse process in progress as well as to prevent future relapse episodes from occurring. Kolmac clinicians with specialized training in relapse prevention provide individual and group therapy to patients within two uniquely designed programs: 1. Relapse Intervention Groups (RIG) – These groups provide additional support to patients who are already in the rehabilitation or continuing care phases of the Kolmac program. The focus is on the identification and management of high-risk situations and triggers that can lead an individual back to active use. 2. Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT) – These groups function as specialized continuing care groups following the completion of the rehabilitation phase of treatment. The focus is on the identification and management of personal warning signs, self-defeating behaviors, and unresolved core personality traits that interfere with one’s ability to maintain stable and lasting recovery.
