The Washington, D.C. office of the Kolmac Clinic has provided drug and alcohol treatment in D.C. since 1984.
This location provides intensive outpatient alcohol and drug rehabilitation, continuing care and family services.
The intensive outpatient alcohol and drug treatment sessions are held in this office in the evenings from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. The continuing care and family group schedules vary, so please check with us for the current schedule.
E.T. "Moe" Briggs, NCC, LCPC, LSATP, MAC is the Clinical Director of the D.C. office. Moe began working with young adults with developmental disabilities in 1981 and in 1992; began working in the alcohol and drug treatment field. He has served in a variety of clinical settings in both direct services and addiction healthcare management. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor, in the Counseling Department at Marymount University in Virginia, and provides training seminars for addictions counselors.
Moe completed his undergraduate work, in Psychology, at Mercer University in Georgia and graduate work at the Johns Hopkins University in Maryland where he obtained a Master of Science degree in Clinical Community Counseling, with an addictions specialty.
Moe is a Nationally Certified Counselor, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner, and Master Addiction Counselor. Prior to his acceptance into the Johns Hopkins University program, he served on the Board of Professional Examiners, in the state of Maryland, as the first advisor appointed by Governor Paris Glendening.
Moe is a Vietnam Veteran, Leadership Arlington Alumni, is involved in volunteer work, and maintains active memberships in several addiction and mental health organizations. His goal is to continue to deliver quality services, believing that "every decision we make, everything we do, must be in the best interest of the patients we serve".
