Delineate the evolution of addiction treatment and the emphasis on cognitive behavior therapy and the 12 steps.

Define which patients may respond to an experiential approach in addiction.

Know how to begin implementation of experiential therapy in the treatment of addiction.

About Eleanor Woollard
- Eleanor has a 30 year background in providing therapy and program development. She has developed both inpatient and outpatient substance abuse and codependency programs, was quoted in Newsweek Magazine on Alcohol and the Family, and had a long standing private practice. She provides local, regional and national lectures on a variety of topics, with particular emphasis on depth therapy and the 12 steps.
A certified MARI practitioner, she provides Mandala therapy for Farley Patients, and has developed a program at the Farley Center at Williamsburg Place which has an intense experiential component, coupled with depth and cognitive therapies, and the 12 step model.

About The Kolmac School
- Kolmac School Programming includes presentations on topics addressing substance abuse, substance abuse treatment programs and addiction treatment programs. The Kolmac School is run by the Kolmac Clinic with outpatient drug and alcohol treatment and rehabilitation centers in Maryland (Columbia, Gaithersburg, Silver Spring, Towson,) and Washington, D.C.

- This program will yield 1.5 hours of Category II continuing education for social workers
